Research–Participating in clinical research allows many patients without access to care to receive state of the art eye care. It doesn’t require a preauthorization in the US and in a global setting, it may constitute the patients first eye care evaluation.
Eye Care Training–Knowledge is power and continuing medical education is the mainstay of health care. We offer teaching and consultation with eye care professionals to improve both skills and knowledge base. We hope to offer training simulators that span training of all health care workers in ophthalmology.
Development Work–Our development work is often focused globally on children and women. Women constitute 60% of those with vision loss. We work with primarily women in fair trade as part of microdevelopment–when women are their own boss, they get health care and eye care and so do their families. We work with eye care professionals globally to make sure they have the basic equipment to treat patients. This work often requires collaborative relationships with other existing NGO’s for sustainability.
Your gifts today help sustain our efforts to prevent blindness and improve sight for countless individuals from around the globe.
