Dr. Robin Ross’ Favorite Childhood Book

Novel by E. L. Konigsburg

I adored this book! This book doused me my first “wow”. Imagination and cleverness overtook me and I had a “friend” in Claudia that I did not have in school. She was funny, witty, thoughtful and adventuress extraordinaire.  She was a born leader.

At 11, I thought someone had snuck into my home in Jackson, Michigan and spied on me. I was Claudia, a bored straight-A student. I wanted to discover something important. An adventure awaited me in this book’s pages. Claudia runs away with her brother Jamie (but not really). The brother sister duo do discover something but you will have to read on. In the process of hiding in a museum, they research a connection to a an angel statue connected to Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler who they later befriend.

This book made me discover libraries and I rode my bike to the Jackson library to get more books. In the process, I became acquainted with libraries and librarians transporting me worldwide.
